Residents Protest MSEZ Plant Over Chemical Pollution Fears
Times of India · environment
Residents in Mangaluru protested outside the Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) entrance, alleging that chemical particles released from a plant last night contaminated nearby residential areas. They raised concerns about public health, drinking water safety, continuous noise, smoke, dust emissions, and wastewater discharge into the Phalguni River. Despite prior complaints, residents claim no permanent solutions have been implemented. They are demanding an official report on the chemical composition and health effects, along with a joint inspection by the KSPCB and district administration.
