25% Youth in 250 Districts Not in Education

A recent survey reveals that over 25% of youth aged 15-29 in approximately 250 districts are neither employed nor pursuing education or training. This highlights a significant gap in human capital utilization, particularly concerning in northern India. States like Bihar, UP, Haryana, Punjab, and West Bengal show high NEET rates. For young women, domestic duties and societal expectations contribute significantly to this trend, with nearly three-fourths of districts recording over 25% NEET.

हालिया सर्वे के मुताबिक, करीब 250 जिलों में 15-29 साल के 25% से ज़्यादा युवा न तो नौकरी कर रहे हैं, न पढ़ाई या ट्रेनिंग। यह मानव पूंजी के इस्तेमाल में एक बड़ी कमी दिखाता है, खासकर उत्तरी भारत के लिए चिंताजनक है। बिहार, यूपी, हरियाणा, पंजाब और पश्चिम बंगाल जैसे राज्यों में NEET दरें ज़्यादा हैं। खासकर लड़कियों के लिए, घर के काम और सामाजिक दबाव इसके बड़े कारण हैं।
