Goa Govt's Intent on ST Reservation Questioned by Sardesai

Times of India · politics

Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai has criticized the state government's handling of political reservation for Scheduled Tribes (STs). He stated that the government's stance in the high court, which led to a stay on the ST population notification, contradicts their public support for reservation. Sardesai argued that the ST community needs concrete action and accountability, not just political rhetoric. He urged the community to unite and assert their constitutional rights, emphasizing that political reservation is a right, not a favour, essential for justice and dignity.
