Orcas Filmed Using New Hunting Technique

Researchers have documented a novel hunting behaviour in orcas within the Gulf of California. The marine mammals were observed collaborating to immobilize and repeatedly ram large sharp-tail sunfish. This coordinated effort caused the sunfish carcass to break apart into numerous pieces. Scientists speculate this technique might facilitate easier feeding for younger orcas or could be a form of play among the intelligent creatures.
