Government Pledges Support For Homeless Mentally Ill

The Andhra Pradesh government will support the Manobandhu Foundation's efforts to rescue, treat, and rehabilitate homeless individuals with mental illness. Principal Secretary G. Veerapandian highlighted the state's Tele-MANAS helpline, 14416, for mental health counselling. The Indian Red Cross Society will provide an ambulance for the foundation's upcoming rescue campaign. In 2025-26, the foundation rescued 105 individuals, reunited 27 with families, and facilitated care for 51 others.
