The Indian government has announced significant relief for cancer patients by capping the trade margin on certain cancer drugs at a maximum of 30%. This move by the NPPA is expected to reduce the prices of many essential cancer medications by 20% to 70%. The government estimates that this will lead to annual savings of approximately ₹2,500 crore for patients. The decision will initially apply to drugs not currently under price control, with a committee to determine which medications will be included in the final list.
