Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri, has promised to end the monopoly of waste collection vendors for bulk generators in Bengaluru. Currently, five empanelled companies, one for each corporation zone, exclusively handle waste collection from these generators. This move aims to introduce competition and potentially reduce costs for bulk waste generators in the city, fostering a more efficient waste management system.

केंद्रीय आवास और शहरी मामलों के मंत्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी ने बेंगलुरु में बड़े कचरा उत्पादकों के लिए कचरा संग्रह विक्रेताओं के एकाधिकार को खत्म करने का वादा किया है। अभी पांच कंपनियां हर जोन से कचरा उठाती हैं। इस कदम से प्रतिस्पर्धा बढ़ेगी और बड़े उत्पादकों के लिए लागत कम हो सकती है, जिससे कचरा प्रबंधन बेहतर होगा।
