आईआईटी बॉम्बे के ग्रेजुएट कनिष्क कटारिया ने 2018 यूपीएससी सिविल सेवा परीक्षा में अपने पहले ही प्रयास में ऑल इंडिया रैंक 1 हासिल की। इससे पहले वह दक्षिण कोरिया में ₹1 करोड़ के सालाना पैकेज वाली एक आकर्षक नौकरी कर रहे थे। कटारिया ने "टिकाऊ खुशी" और लोगों के जीवन में बदलाव लाने के अवसर की तलाश में अपनी उच्च-भुगतान वाली नौकरी छोड़ दी। उनके सफल भाषण में, जिसमें उनकी प्रेमिका, माता-पिता और बहन का विशेष उल्लेख था, व्यक्तिगत स्वीकारोक्ति के लिए ध्यान आकर्षित किया। वह अब राजस्थान कैडर में एक आईएएस अधिकारी के रूप में कार्यरत हैं।
