Pope Leo XIV is recovering from surgery to remove a cancerous nodule and has resumed work from his hospital room. He met with Vatican chief of staff Archbishop Paolo Rudelli at Gemelli hospital in Rome, where doctors confirmed his recovery is proceeding as expected. The 71-year-old pontiff had part of his right lung removed after surgery confirmed adenocarcinoma, the most common type of lung cancer.
