10 Killed, 9 Injured in Bangladesh Seaside Resort Fire

At least 10 people died and nine were injured in a fire that erupted at a seaside resort in Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar district early Saturday. The blaze completely destroyed the three-storey resort, constructed primarily from bamboo and wood. Officials reported that six bodies had been recovered, with DNA samples to be collected before they are returned to families. The injured were transported to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital, where five burn patients were admitted. The cause of the fire, which occurred around 6:30 AM, remains unknown.
