Elephant Trapped in Slush at Gunderipallam Dam; Rescue Operations Underway

A female elephant became trapped in slush at the Gunderipallam dam near Gobichettipalayam in Erode district on Sunday, prompting a major rescue operation. The animal had come to the dam to drink water due to acute water scarcity in the forest, causing the dam's water level to drop. Forest and fire service personnel rushed to the spot to free the distressed elephant, but an initial earthmover deployed for the rescue got stuck. Alternative arrangements were made, and a veterinary team was mobilized to monitor the elephant's condition.

रविवार को इरोड जिले के गोबिचेट्टीपलायम के पास गुंडरपल्लम बांध में दलदल में एक मादा हाथी फंस गई, जिससे बड़े पैमाने पर बचाव अभियान चलाया गया। जंगल में पानी की गंभीर कमी के कारण जानवर बांध में पानी पीने आया था, जिससे बांध का जल स्तर गिर गया। वन और अग्निशमन कर्मियों ने परेशान हाथी को छुड़ाने के लिए घटनास्थल पर दौड़ लगाई, लेकिन बचाव के लिए तैनात एक प्रारंभिक अर्थमूवर फंस गया। वैकल्पिक व्यवस्था की गई और हाथी की स्थिति की निगरानी के लिए एक पशु चिकित्सा दल को जुटाया गया।
