Supreme Court Orders End to Illegal Detentions and Service Disruptions
Times of India · politics
The Supreme Court has intervened following widespread restrictions and detentions during a protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). The court issued orders on Sunday mandating that police cease unlawful detentions and allow free movement within the capital. It also directed the restoration of normal metro and railway operations and uninterrupted internet services, provided they comply with the law. These directives came after senior advocates presented serious allegations of police misconduct, including the detention of lawyers and political leaders, and restrictions on journalists.
