Four Arrested For Climbing Cross Near Munnar

Munnar police have arrested four youths from Kozhikode for climbing a 20-foot cross at Pallivasal near Munnar. The incident occurred on September 19 when the youths were visiting to see the Neelakurinji bloom. They allegedly climbed the cross erected by St. Anne’s Church and posted photos on social media, causing outrage. Police also arrested three local youths from Idukki for sharing the photos, though one did not climb the cross. The church expressed concern over the desecration and the risk of fatal accidents from such dangerous stunts.

मुन्नार पुलिस ने मुन्नार के पास पल्लिवसल में 20 फुट ऊंचे क्रॉस पर चढ़ने के आरोप में कोझिकोड के चार युवकों को गिरफ्तार किया है। यह घटना 19 सितंबर को हुई थी जब युवक नीलकुरुंजी फूल देखने आए थे। उन्होंने कथित तौर पर सेंट ऐनी चर्च द्वारा स्थापित क्रॉस पर चढ़ाई की और सोशल मीडिया पर तस्वीरें पोस्ट कीं, जिससे लोगों में नाराजगी फैल गई। पुलिस ने तस्वीरें साझा करने के आरोप में इडुक्की के तीन स्थानीय युवकों को भी गिरफ्तार किया, हालांकि उनमें से एक ने क्रॉस पर चढ़ाई नहीं की थी। चर्च ने इस अपवित्रता और ऐसे खतरनाक स्टंट से होने वाले घातक दुर्घटनाओं के जोखिम पर चिंता व्यक्त की है।
