Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation has begun enforcing water conservation measures ahead of an deadline for residents to fix leaks. Two individuals were fined Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively for wasting tap water and failing to repair leaky fixtures. Additionally, 33 illegal water connections were disconnected in various colonies, preventing water theft and leakage from a main pipeline. Municipal Commissioner Amol Yedge urged citizens to conserve water, warning of escalating penalties for future violations, including criminal cases.
