Spain Rings 600 Flamingo Chicks Annually

Hundreds of volunteers gathered at Spain's Fuente de Piedra lake for the annual flamingo-ringing initiative. Since 1984, over 200,000 flamingo chicks have hatched at the nature reserve. Environmental authorities and volunteers tag the birds each year to monitor their movements across Europe and North Africa. This year, 600 chicks were ringed, continuing efforts to understand and protect migratory bird populations.

स्पेन की फुएंते दे पिएद्रा झील पर सैकड़ों वालंटियर्स हर साल की तरह फ्लेमिंगो को टैग करने के लिए इकट्ठा हुए। 1984 से, इस नेचर रिजर्व में 2 लाख से ज़्यादा फ्लेमिंगो के बच्चे पैदा हुए हैं। हर साल पर्यावरण अधिकारी और वालंटियर्स इन पक्षियों को यूरोप और उत्तरी अफ्रीका में उनकी आवाजाही पर नज़र रखने के लिए टैग करते हैं। इस साल 600 बच्चों को टैग किया गया, जिससे प्रवासी पक्षियों की आबादी को समझने और बचाने के प्रयासों को जारी रखा जा सके।
