Indian Hospital Stocks Rally Up To 5% On Cancer Drug Margin Cap Reports

Shares of major Indian hospital chains like Fortis, Apollo, and Max Healthcare surged up to 5% on Friday. This rally was triggered by reports that the government plans to cap trade margins on non-scheduled cancer drugs at 30%. The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority has reportedly approved this proposal, which could significantly reduce drug prices and offer substantial annual savings to patients. This move is expected to impact hospital EBITDA margins by 2-4%, according to brokerage firm ICICI Securities.
