Election Commission Responds To Rahul Gandhi's Akashvani Protest

The Election Commission of India has responded to the protest by Congress leaders, including Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, outside Akashvani Bhavan. The ECI stated that no political party had formally requested a meeting through an authorized representative by 4 PM. They clarified that a procedure for meeting political parties was established in 2025, requiring a meeting request via an authorized representative and mutual consent on timing. The commission proposed meeting the delegation at the Parliament House Annexe, which was also rejected.

भारत के चुनाव आयोग ने कांग्रेस नेताओं, जिनमें राहुल और प्रियंका गांधी शामिल थे, द्वारा आकाशवाणी भवन के बाहर किए गए विरोध प्रदर्शन पर प्रतिक्रिया दी है। ईसीआई ने कहा कि शाम 4 बजे तक किसी भी राजनीतिक दल ने अधिकृत प्रतिनिधि के माध्यम से औपचारिक रूप से बैठक का अनुरोध नहीं किया था। उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि 2025 में राजनीतिक दलों से मिलने की एक प्रक्रिया स्थापित की गई थी, जिसमें अधिकृत प्रतिनिधि के माध्यम से बैठक का अनुरोध और समय पर आपसी सहमति की आवश्यकता होती है। आयोग ने संसद भवन के अन्नexe में प्रतिनिधिमंडल से मिलने का प्रस्ताव दिया था, जिसे भी अस्वीकार कर दिया गया था।
