Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Meta India following a directive from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) concerning the availability of child sexual abuse material on its platforms. NHRC member Priyank Kanoongo confirmed the action, highlighting growing scrutiny of social media's role in circulating such content. Earlier, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights had summoned Meta India's MD. Meta stated that online predators increasingly use disguised advertisements to evade detection and has committed to reporting child safety cases directly to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
