Jack Weiss, a 30-year-old chemical engineering PhD graduate from Princeton University, has applied for over 2,300 jobs since graduating in 2024 but is still struggling to find stable employment. His research on ice formation was cited by the Nobel Committee that year. Despite graduating summa cum laude from Rice University and completing advanced studies, Weiss has faced numerous rejections and unanswered applications.
