Leonardo da Vinci's Quote on Genius and Work Emphasizes Value of Thinking Time

Times of India · lifestyle

Leonardo da Vinci, renowned for the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, believed great minds achieve most when they appear to work least. His quote suggests that periods of apparent idleness are crucial for incubating ideas and refining conceptions before giving them form. This thinking process, though unseen, is vital work. The quote, attributed to Vasari's retelling, highlights that rushing the imaginative stage can spoil the final result, a relevant lesson in today's productivity-focused world.
