Keralam on High Alert as Rain Intensifies; Orange Alert Issued

Keralam is on high alert as heavy thunderstorms continue to lash several parts of the state, influenced by a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for four districts, warning of intense thunderstorms, while other districts are under a yellow alert. Overnight rains have disrupted normal life and caused waterlogging in eastern ghat regions, southern Keralam, and parts of Central Travancore. Disaster management authorities are on high alert due to the forecast for continued heavy rainfall.

बंगाल की खाड़ी में बने कम दबाव के क्षेत्र के प्रभाव से केरल के कई हिस्सों में भारी गरज के साथ बारिश जारी है, जिससे राज्य हाई अलर्ट पर है। भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग (IMD) ने चार जिलों के लिए ऑरेंज अलर्ट जारी किया है, जिसमें तेज गरज के साथ बारिश की चेतावनी दी गई है, जबकि अन्य जिलों में येलो अलर्ट है। रात भर हुई बारिश ने पूर्वी घाट क्षेत्रों, दक्षिणी केरल और मध्य त्रावणकोर के कुछ हिस्सों में सामान्य जनजीवन को अस्त-व्यस्त कर दिया है और जलभराव हो गया है। लगातार भारी बारिश के पूर्वानुमान को देखते हुए आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण हाई अलर्ट पर हैं।
