SP Fields BJP Rebels on Two MLC Seats, Replaces Earlier Candidates

The Samajwadi Party (SP) has changed its candidates for two Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council seats, fielding Akash Agarwal and Sanjayan Tripathi, both former BJP rebels. Tripathi replaces Kamlesh Yadav in Gorakhpur-Faizabad Teachers Constituency, while Agarwal replaces Prakash Chandra Gupta in Agra Teachers Constituency. SP President Akhilesh Yadav stated the decision was made with the consent of the original candidates, Prakash Chandra Gupta and Kamlesh Yadav, and aims to strengthen the party's fight for social justice. Elections for these and other seats are scheduled for October 23.

समाजवादी पार्टी (एसपी) ने उत्तर प्रदेश विधान परिषद की दो सीटों के लिए अपने उम्मीदवारों को बदल दिया है, आकाश अग्रवाल और संजय त्रिपाठी, दोनों पूर्व बीजेपी बागी को मैदान में उतारा है। त्रिपाठी ने गोरखपुर-फैजाबाद शिक्षक निर्वाचन क्षेत्र में कमलेश यादव की जगह ली है, जबकि अग्रवाल ने आगरा शिक्षक निर्वाचन क्षेत्र में प्रकाश चंद्र गुप्ता की जगह ली है। एसपी अध्यक्ष अखिलेश यादव ने कहा कि यह फैसला मूल उम्मीदवारों, प्रकाश चंद्र गुप्ता और कमलेश यादव की सहमति से लिया गया है, और इसका उद्देश्य सामाजिक न्याय के लिए पार्टी की लड़ाई को मजबूत करना है। इन और अन्य सीटों के लिए चुनाव 23 अक्टूबर को होने हैं।
