A significant multi-agency operation is underway in Himachal Pradesh's Parvati Valley to combat illicit cannabis cultivation. Over the past two months, authorities have destroyed 592 acres of illegal crops using satellite imagery and on-ground efforts. The joint operation involves the Narcotics Control Bureau, ITBP, Himachal Pradesh police, and the State forest department. This crackdown aims to dismantle drug networks and prevent the region from being exploited as a narcotics trade hub, with a national target to achieve zero illicit cultivation in known areas by December 2027.
