Bhubaneswar Couple Arrested For Rs 1.47 Crore Land Fraud

Police in Bhubaneswar have arrested a couple, Srimanta Kalas and Soumya Subhadarshini Kalas, for allegedly defrauding a man of Rs 1.47 crore in a land deal. The complainant alleged that Srimanta posed as a land broker and persuaded him to buy a plot in Saheed Nagar. Payments were made between January 2021 and August 2022, including cash and bank transactions. The accused allegedly failed to register the sale deed and used forged documents. The investigation revealed the money was diverted to industrial ventures where the wife was a director.

भुवनेश्वर पुलिस ने एक कपल, श्रीमंत कलस और सौम्या सुभदर्शनी कलस को, एक ज़मीन सौदे में एक आदमी को कथित तौर पर 1.47 करोड़ रुपये की ठगी करने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया है। शिकायतकर्ता ने आरोप लगाया कि श्रीमंत ने एक ज़मीन दलाल के रूप में पेश किया और उसे शहीद नगर में एक प्लॉट खरीदने के लिए राजी किया। भुगतान जनवरी 2021 और अगस्त 2022 के बीच नकद और बैंक लेनदेन सहित किए गए थे। कथित तौर पर आरोपियों ने बिक्री विलेख पंजीकृत कराने में विफल रहे और जाली दस्तावेजों का इस्तेमाल किया। जांच में पता चला कि पैसा औद्योगिक उपक्रमों में लगाया गया था जहां पत्नी निदेशक थी।
