The Punjab Cabinet has approved amendments to service rules, restoring the district-level cadre for Revenue Patwaris and Kanungos. This decision aims to resolve administrative anomalies and legal challenges arising from a statewide seniority list, particularly affecting those who opted for inter-district transfers. The District Collector will now serve as the appointing authority and maintain seniority lists at the district level. The Cabinet also approved the establishment of a new grain market in Lehragaga and new labour-related rules.

पंजाब कैबिनेट ने राजस्व पटवारियों और कानूनगों के लिए जिला-स्तरीय कैडर बहाल करने के लिए सेवा नियमों में संशोधन को मंजूरी दे दी है। इस फैसले का उद्देश्य अखिल भारतीय वरिष्ठता सूची से उत्पन्न होने वाली प्रशासनिक विसंगतियों और कानूनी चुनौतियों का समाधान करना है, खासकर उन लोगों को प्रभावित करने वालों का जिन्होंने अंतर-जिला स्थानांतरण का विकल्प चुना था। जिला कलेक्टर अब नियुक्ति प्राधिकारी के रूप में कार्य करेंगे और जिला स्तर पर वरिष्ठता सूची बनाए रखेंगे। कैबिनेट ने लेहरागागा में एक नए अनाज बाजार और नए श्रम-संबंधी नियमों की स्थापना को भी मंजूरी दी।
