Hindustan Times · world

The Saudi-led coalition announced on Tuesday it intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by Yemen's Houthis towards Khamis Mushait, a city housing an airbase. This comes as Yemeni government forces claim to have pushed the Iran-backed Houthis from areas around the Bab al-Mandab strait and the port city of Mocha. Both sides have reported significant casualties in recent fighting, with claims from the ground proving difficult to verify independently. The conflict has intensified amid the wider Middle East war, impacting global energy markets and trade routes.
