Mumbai Architect Transforms Tyre Waste Into Designer Architectural Tiles

The Better India · lifestyle

Mumbai-based architect Tejas Sidnal is tackling pollution by creating architectural tiles from recovered black carbon. His startup, Carbon Craft Design, blends this carbon waste with cement, recycled marble powder, and chips to produce unique Carbon Tiles. This innovative process uses significantly less energy than traditional ceramic tile manufacturing, requiring only room temperature setting instead of high-temperature firing. Each square meter of these tiles prevents approximately 25 kg of carbon dioxide emissions, offering a sustainable building material.
