The State Food Commission has ordered officials to ensure the quality of nutrition supplies distributed at anganwadis and schools in Attappadi. A commission team inspected facilities following reports of infant deaths suspected to be linked to malnutrition. They found pulse and chickpea packets without expiry dates and sought an explanation. The ICDS officer cited a lack of fair average quality wheat for declining supplies. The commission noted that nutrition supplies were being provided to vulnerable groups in affected areas.
