These members are challenging the Centre's decision to take over the club's 27.3-acre premises and subsequent eviction proceedings. The High Court had previously refused to entertain their plea, stating only the club could challenge the Centre's actions. The Supreme Court's order permits the members to approach the High Court, subject to any legal objections raised by the opposing side regarding maintainability. A government-nominated committee currently manages the club.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट को दिल्ली जिमखाना क्लब के 11 सदस्यों द्वारा दायर याचिका सुनने का निर्देश दिया है। ये सदस्य क्लब के 27.3 एकड़ परिसर पर केंद्र के अधिग्रहण और उसके बाद की बेदखली की कार्यवाही को चुनौती दे रहे हैं। हाई कोर्ट ने पहले उनकी याचिका सुनने से इनकार कर दिया था, यह कहते हुए कि केवल क्लब ही केंद्र की कार्रवाई को चुनौती दे सकता है। सुप्रीम कोर्ट के आदेश से सदस्यों को हाई कोर्ट जाने की अनुमति मिल गई है, बशर्ते कि विरोधी पक्ष द्वारा स्वीकार्यता के संबंध में कोई कानूनी आपत्ति न उठाई जाए। वर्तमान में एक सरकार-नामित समिति क्लब का प्रबंधन कर रही है।
