RLD Demands Higher Sugarcane SAP Ahead of 2026-27 Crushing Season

Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), a BJP ally, has urged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to significantly increase the sugarcane State Advisory Price (SAP) for the upcoming 2026-27 crushing season. Nine RLD MLAs and two MPs argued in a letter that rising cultivation costs, including fertilisers, seeds, pesticides, diesel, and labour, have eroded farmers' returns. They highlighted that the current returns do not match the increased expenses, making farming unsustainable. The RLD seeks a price increase proportional to production costs to ensure farmers' profitability and meet household needs.

बीजेपी की सहयोगी राष्ट्रीय लोक दल (RLD) ने उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ से आगामी 2026-27 पेराई सत्र के लिए गन्ने की राज्य सलाहकार मूल्य (SAP) में काफी वृद्धि करने का आग्रह किया है। नौ RLD विधायकों और दो सांसदों ने एक पत्र में तर्क दिया कि खेती की बढ़ती लागत, जिसमें उर्वरक, बीज, कीटनाशक, डीजल और मजदूरी शामिल हैं, ने किसानों के मुनाफे को कम कर दिया है। उन्होंने इस बात पर प्रकाश डाला कि वर्तमान रिटर्न बढ़ी हुई लागतों से मेल नहीं खाता है, जिससे खेती अस्थिर हो गई है। RLD किसानों की लाभप्रदता सुनिश्चित करने और घरेलू जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए उत्पादन लागत के अनुपात में मूल्य वृद्धि चाहता है।
