LPU Violence Erupts Over Rape Allegations, Suicide

Violent protests erupted at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Phagwara following social media claims of a student's alleged rape and questions surrounding another student's suicide. LPU has denied the rape allegations, calling them false and fabricated, while police have registered an FIR and formed a SIT to investigate. The protests escalated into vandalism and clashes with police, leading to a blockade of NH-44. Internet services were also suspended in the area to control the situation. The university stated that no rape occurred on campus.
