Shafali Verma Breaks T20 World Record

Indian cricketer Shafali Verma has set a new world record for the most runs in a calendar year in women's T20 Internationals. She surpassed Laura Wolvaardt's previous record of 824 runs, achieving this feat during the Asian Games 2026 final against Sri Lanka. Verma scored 863 runs in 24 matches this year, including one century and seven half-centuries, with a strike rate of 162.83.
