Odisha Government Honours Seven Wildlife Activists With Conservation Awards

The forest and environment department of Odisha has honoured seven wildlife activists with the Chief Minister’s Wildlife Conservation Award. The awards were presented during Wildlife Week celebrations in Berhampur. Each recipient from Ganjam, Kandhamal, Gajapati, and Boudh districts received a cash prize of Rs 25,000 for their significant contributions to wildlife protection. Speakers highlighted the importance of human-wildlife coexistence and the role of public efforts in conserving endangered species like blackbuck and Olive Ridley turtles.

ओडिशा के वन और पर्यावरण विभाग ने सात वन्यजीव कार्यकर्ताओं को मुख्यमंत्री के वन्यजीव संरक्षण पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया है। यह पुरस्कार बेरहमपुर में वन्यजीव सप्ताह समारोह के दौरान दिए गए। गंजाम, कंधमाल, गजपति और बौद्ध जिलों के प्रत्येक प्राप्तकर्ता को वन्यजीव संरक्षण में उनके महत्वपूर्ण योगदान के लिए 25,000 रुपये का नकद पुरस्कार मिला। वक्ताओं ने मानव-वन्यजीव सह-अस्तित्व के महत्व और ब्लैकबक और ओलिव रिडले कछुओं जैसी लुप्तप्राय प्रजातियों के संरक्षण में सार्वजनिक प्रयासों की भूमिका पर प्रकाश डाला।
