Puri Greenfield Airport Gets Environmental & CRZ Clearance From MoEF

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has granted environmental and Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance for the Shree Jagannath International Airport in Puri. The project, planned on 471.348 hectares, received approval based on the Expert Appraisal Committee's recommendation, subject to specific conditions. These include a bird hazard study due to the airport's proximity to Chilika Lake, a wetland of international importance. Measures to safeguard migratory birds and their habitats will be implemented, with careful selection of plantation species to avoid nesting and improve pollution control.

पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्रालय ने पुरी में श्री जगन्नाथ इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट के लिए पर्यावरण और कोस्टल रेगुलेशन ज़ोन (CRZ) क्लीयरेंस दे दी है। 471.348 हेक्टेयर में बनने वाली इस परियोजना को एक्सपर्ट अप्रेजल कमेटी की सिफारिशों के आधार पर मंजूरी मिली है, लेकिन कुछ खास शर्तें रखी गई हैं। इनमें चिल्का झील, जो एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय महत्व की आर्द्रभूमि है, के पास एयरपोर्ट होने के कारण पक्षी खतरे का अध्ययन शामिल है। प्रवासी पक्षियों और उनके आवासों की सुरक्षा के उपाय किए जाएंगे, और घोंसले बनाने से बचने और प्रदूषण नियंत्रण में सुधार के लिए रोपण प्रजातियों का सावधानीपूर्वक चयन किया जाएगा।
