SGPC Finds No Discrepancies in Rape Accused Ex-Official's Records

SGPC has found no discrepancies in records concerning a woman who accused former SGPC member Amarjit Singh Chawla of rape. SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami stated that a four-member committee examined gurdwara management records and found the woman paid for her stays. Dhami dismissed allegations of free accommodation and a vehicle as a "political trial" aimed at defaming the Sikh institution.

एसजीपीसी को बलात्कार के आरोपी पूर्व एसजीपीसी सदस्य अमरजीत सिंह चावला के खिलाफ शिकायत करने वाली महिला के रिकॉर्ड में कोई गड़बड़ी नहीं मिली है। एसजीपीसी के अध्यक्ष हरजिंदर सिंह धामी ने कहा कि चार सदस्यीय समिति ने गुरुद्वारा प्रबंधन रिकॉर्ड की जांच की और पाया कि महिला ने अपने ठहरने का भुगतान किया था। धामी ने मुफ्त आवास और वाहन के आरोपों को सिख संस्था को बदनाम करने के उद्देश्य से एक "राजनीतिक मुकदमा" करार दिया।
