Kolkata: Youth Dies, Friend Critically Hurt in Early Morning Bike-Car Crash

A 30-year-old man died and his 27-year-old friend was critically injured in a head-on collision between their motorcycle and a car near Urbana in Anandapur early Saturday. Police reported that both riders were not wearing helmets and appeared to be intoxicated while out pandal-hopping. The accident occurred around 4 am, throwing both individuals off the bike. The deceased, Pratyush Panai, sustained severe head injuries, while Prasun Kumar, the pillion rider, suffered serious injuries and is undergoing treatment. The car driver fled the scene, and authorities are searching for them.

शनिवार तड़के आनंदपुर के अर्बाना के पास मोटरसाइकिल और कार की आमने-सामने की टक्कर में 30 वर्षीय व्यक्ति की मौत हो गई और उसका 27 वर्षीय दोस्त गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गया। पुलिस ने बताया कि दोनों सवार हेलमेट नहीं पहने थे और पंडाल घूमने निकले थे, तब वे नशे में लग रहे थे। यह दुर्घटना सुबह करीब 4 बजे हुई, जिससे दोनों व्यक्ति बाइक से गिर गए। मृतक प्रत्युष पनई को सिर में गंभीर चोटें आईं, जबकि पीछे बैठे यात्री प्रसून कुमार को गंभीर चोटें आई हैं और उनका इलाज चल रहा है। कार चालक मौके से फरार हो गया, और पुलिस उनकी तलाश कर रही है।
