As Durga Puja commences, Lucknow's pandals are transforming into immersive cultural experiences, drawing inspiration from Bengal's heritage. Several committees are meticulously recreating the courtyards of aristocratic Kolkata families, known as Thakur Dalans, complete with traditional attire and gold-plated jewellery. Other pandals are embracing Bengal's folk art traditions, featuring designs inspired by artist Jamini Roy and terracotta village temples. Themes also include traditional village life and architectural replicas of landmarks like the Dakshineswar Kali Temple, showcasing diverse artistic interpretations of Bengali culture.
