Contemporary artist Joy Mathew from Thrissur, India, has had both his submitted works selected for the Busan International Environment Art Festival (BIEAF). Over 800 artists are participating in the festival, which began in September and will continue until February 2027. Mathew is known for his distinctive rock-art technique, creating textured surfaces that resemble rock. One selected piece, 'Existence,' explores resilience through depictions of women and children on difficult paths, using bamboo as a metaphor. His other work reflects on human heart purity and hope for sustainable governance.
