Union Home Minister Amit Shah has urged newly trained Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to shun publicity and earn recognition through their performance. Speaking at the passing-out parade of the 78th batch at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad, Shah emphasized that authority is a responsibility, not a status symbol. He advised officers to uphold humility, restraint, and commitment to the Constitution. The event also highlighted the evolving challenges in internal security, including sophisticated cybercrime and organized narcotics networks, as identified by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan.
