Ukraine Boosts Railway Security Amid Russian Attacks

Ukraine is intensifying measures to protect its railway infrastructure from escalating Russian drone attacks. Over 1,600 attacks on trains and stations were reported in the first eight months of 2026. Russia has damaged or destroyed over 500 locomotives since 2022, with more than half occurring this year. The government is seeking international aid to replace destroyed locomotives and enhance passenger safety, emphasizing the critical role railways play in logistics and evacuations.

यूक्रेन रूस के ड्रोन हमलों से अपने रेलवे इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर को बचाने के लिए और कड़े कदम उठा रहा है। 2026 के पहले आठ महीनों में ट्रेनों और स्टेशनों पर 1,600 से ज़्यादा हमले हुए। 2022 से रूस ने 500 से ज़्यादा लोकोमोटिव को नुकसान पहुँचाया या नष्ट किया है, जिनमें से आधे से ज़्यादा इसी साल हुए हैं। सरकार नष्ट हुए लोकोमोटिव को बदलने और यात्रियों की सुरक्षा बढ़ाने के लिए अंतरराष्ट्रीय मदद मांग रही है।
