Karnataka Minister Rejects Royal Family's Dasara Procession Suggestion, Offers Dialogue

Karnataka Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah has rejected a proposal from Pramoda Devi Wadiyar of the erstwhile royal family to shift the Jamboo Savari procession to the Rathothsava day during the Dasara festivities. Mr. Siddaramaiah stated that the palace and its grounds belong to the government, which has the ultimate authority to decide on the conduct of Dasara. He assured that the government is prepared to address the royal family's grievances regarding the festival's arrangements.

कर्नाटक के मंत्री यतींद्र सिद्धारमैया ने पूर्व शाही परिवार की प्रमादा देवी वाडियार के दशहरा उत्सव के दौरान जंबो सवारी जुलूस को रथोत्सव के दिन स्थानांतरित करने के प्रस्ताव को खारिज कर दिया है। श्री सिद्धारमैया ने कहा कि महल और उसके मैदान सरकार के हैं, जिसका दशहरा के संचालन पर अंतिम अधिकार है। उन्होंने आश्वासन दिया कि सरकार उत्सव की व्यवस्थाओं के संबंध में शाही परिवार की शिकायतों को दूर करने के लिए तैयार है।
