BBC Hindi · india

Divya Ahirwar, a prominent figure in Madhya Pradesh's 'Chita Andolan', has been arrested and is currently in jail for allegedly attempting to murder a police officer. The incident occurred during a protest related to the Majhgaon dam project. Police claim Ahirwar and 12 others tried to strangle policeman Bhupal Singh Bhadauria. Her bail plea has been rejected by the district court, which deemed the charges serious. Ahirwar's lawyer alleges flaws in the FIR and claims police filed a false report.
