Securities Appellate Tribunal Sets Aside MCX Penalty on Ventura Securities

The Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) has overturned a ₹1.49 crore penalty imposed by the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) on Ventura Securities. The penalty was for alleged violations of client-level open position limits in natural gas options. SAT directed MCX to refund the total amount of ₹1.76 crore debited from Ventura's account, including GST. The tribunal also ordered MCX to pay ₹1 lakh in costs to Ventura Securities, citing an invalid order signed by a former committee member.

सिक्योरिटीज अपीलेट ट्रिब्यूनल (SAT) ने मल्टी कमोडिटी एक्सचेंज ऑफ इंडिया (MCX) द्वारा वेंचुरा सिक्योरिटीज पर लगाए गए ₹1.49 करोड़ के जुर्माने को पलट दिया है। यह जुर्माना प्राकृतिक गैस ऑप्शन्स में कथित तौर पर क्लाइंट-लेवल ओपन पोजीशन लिमिट के उल्लंघन के लिए लगाया गया था। SAT ने MCX को वेंचुरा के खाते से डेबिट की गई कुल ₹1.76 करोड़ की राशि, जिसमें GST भी शामिल है, वापस करने का निर्देश दिया। ट्रिब्यूनल ने MCX को वेंचुरा सिक्योरिटीज को ₹1 लाख का हर्जाना देने का भी आदेश दिया, जिसका कारण एक पूर्व समिति सदस्य द्वारा हस्ताक्षरित एक अमान्य आदेश बताया गया।
