दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी ने ₹5889 करोड़ की अनुमानित लागत से नए हॉस्टल बनाने की योजना को मंजूरी दे दी है। इस महत्वाकांक्षी परियोजना का लक्ष्य 21,000 से ज़्यादा छात्रों के लिए आवासीय सुविधाएं प्रदान करना है। एग्जीक्यूटिव काउंसिल की मंजूरी में ढाका कॉम्प्लेक्स, सूरजमल विहार कैंपस और नजफगढ़ कैंपस में नई बहुमंजिला हॉस्टल बिल्डिंग का निर्माण शामिल है। इसके अलावा, दो पुराने हॉस्टलों का पुनर्विकास किया जाएगा, जिससे कुल क्षमता में काफी वृद्धि होगी। डिज़ाइन में भविष्य की ज़रूरतों को ध्यान में रखा जाएगा, ताकि अगले सौ साल तक सुविधाएं सुनिश्चित हों। यह विस्तार बढ़ती छात्र आबादी को समायोजित करने और कैंपस जीवन को बेहतर बनाने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है।
