Ex-Guard Arrested for Minor's Murder; Chose Dark, CCTV-Free Cellar

Police in Hyderabad have arrested Vikram Kumar, a former security guard, for the murder of a five-year-old girl. Kumar confessed to killing the child for ransom, deliberately choosing a secluded cellar within the housing society that lacked CCTV surveillance. He lured the girl, whom he knew, to the under-construction cellar and used construction materials to strangle her before drowning her in a water sump. He then attempted to demand a Rs 20 lakh ransom from the family.

हैदराबाद पुलिस ने पांच साल की बच्ची की हत्या के आरोप में विक्रम कुमार नाम के एक पूर्व सुरक्षा गार्ड को गिरफ्तार किया है। कुमार ने फिरौती के लिए बच्चे की हत्या करने की बात कबूल की है, उसने जानबूझकर हाउसिंग सोसाइटी के अंदर एक सुनसान तहखाने को चुना था जहाँ सीसीटीवी की निगरानी नहीं थी। उसने बच्ची को, जिसे वह जानता था, निर्माणाधीन तहखाने में बहलाया और निर्माण सामग्री का उपयोग करके उसका गला घोंट दिया, फिर उसे पानी के संप में डुबो दिया। इसके बाद उसने परिवार से 20 लाख रुपये की फिरौती मांगने की कोशिश की।
