Residents in Ukraine and Russia received fake emergency warnings via government mobile apps after systems were hacked. Ukraine's app falsely alerted users to an imminent nuclear threat and high radiation levels, while Russia's emergency app also sent a false alert. The hacking group Hitcore claimed responsibility for the breach of Ukraine's system, though this is unverified. Ukrainian officials stated the attack did not impact security operations, and the app has since been restored.
