New rules mandate ambulances to start within two minutes of an emergency alert and reach the nearest hospital within an hour to treat accident victims. Failure to comply can result in penalties of up to Rs 10,000 per incident. आपातकालीन सूचना मिलते ही एम्बुलेंस को दो मिनट के अंदर रवाना होना होगा। दुर्घटना पीड़ितों के इलाज के लिए उन्हें एक घंटे के भीतर नजदीकी अस्पताल पहुंचना होगा। नियमों का पालन न करने पर हर घटना पर 10,000 रुपये तक का जुर्माना लग सकता है। इन उपायों से राजमार्गों पर होने वाली गंभीर सड़क दुर्घटनाओं में मरीजों को बेहतर इलाज मिल सकेगा।
