Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani and seven others have been booked for allegedly obstructing a police inspector and creating a commotion at Pethapur police station. The incident occurred on October 8 during the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation elections campaign. According to the complaint, Mevani and the accused unlawfully entered a police station room, obstructed duties, and used abusive language. They also allegedly circulated videos on social media to incite tensions between communities. The FIR was registered on Sunday night, with no arrests made yet.
