Meta Quits Clean Energy Pledge For Gas Power

Meta has withdrawn from the RE100 clean energy pledge, a move that comes amid a significant expansion of data centers by major tech firms. The company has entered agreements to fund new natural gas power plants, including ten specifically for its Hyperion data center in Louisiana. Meta had initially joined the pledge in 2016.
