सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने 49 साल पुराने हत्या के मामले में तीन जीवित आरोपियों को बरी कर दिया है। इन लोगों ने पहले ही उम्रकैद की सज़ा काट ली थी। कोर्ट ने कहा कि अभियोजन पक्ष के मामले में बड़ी खामियां थीं और गवाहों के बयानों में भी विरोधाभास था। संदेह का लाभ देते हुए, शीर्ष अदालत ने पाया कि उचित संदेह से परे अपराध साबित नहीं किया जा सका।
